Change the appearance of an Advocacy 4 targeted action

    In This Article:

Many of Salsa's clients have found that the wording on the first page of an Advocacy 4 targeted action needs to be changed. For example, the standard targeted action looks like this.

With a few tweaks, we can make it look like this:2017-03-30_1037.png

      Like that?  Read on!

      Solution

The way to make the change from the top screenshot to the bottom screenshot is to add a script, CSS and HTML to your action templates.  Here are some steps that you can use:

      1. Edit a template.
      2. Use the browser's search tool to locate the </body> tag.
      3. Insert a blank line just before the </body> tag.
      4. Click here to see the page where the solution lives.
      5. Locate the "Raw" button and click it.  A new window will open that contains just the solution.
      6. Copy the contents of the window and close it.
      7. Return to the template editor.
      8. Paste the copied text into the newly inserted line in the editor.
      9. Configure the labels and placeholders See "Configuration", below.
      10. Save the template.
      11. Test!

      Configuration

The solution contains four items that can be configured by editing some text:

      • The address label, currently "Your street address"
      • The address placeholder. This is the text in the address field, currently a sample address.
      • The ZIP label, currently "ZIP code (5 digits)"
      • The ZIP placeholder, This is the text in the ZIP field, currently "NNNNN"

      Steps you can use:

      1. Edit a template.
      2. Use the browser's search tool to locate a <div> tag that contains the text "address-label".
      3. You'll see some HTML like the image after these steps.
      4. Modify the text part of each HTML tag.  Please be sure not to disturb any '<' or '>' characters.
      5. Save the template.
      6. Test!
