Label for comment field in petitions

    In This Article:

Have you configured a petition to collect comments only to have it display a blank box at the bottom of the petition?

If so, then read on for a way to add a label to that box.

A template can be configured to collect a comment as well as a signature.  Adding a comment box is done on the "Signatures" page when you are editing the template.

Probably the best way to add a label to the comment box is to use a script.  The script needs to be installed in all templates that are used by petitions that collect comments.  Here are some steps that you can use.

      1. Edit a template used by petitions.
      2. Use the browser's search tools to locate the </body> tag.
      3. Insert a blank line just before the </body> tag.
      4. Click here to see the page where the script lives.
      5. Locate and click the "Raw" button. A new window will appear that contains just the solution.
      6. Copy the contents of the window and close it.
      7. Return to the template editor.
      8. Paste the copied text into the newly inserted line in the template.
      9. Save the template.
      10. Test by viewing a petition with a comment.  A label appears where it did not before.2017-12-05_1148.png
