      Do your Advocacy pages appear secure?

      If you receive complaints that your Advocacy page is not secure, it is more than likely because the lock icon in your browser appears as "broken," due to images or other aspects of your template being hosted on non-secure servers.  Once your template is modified, your page will be secure.  Read these tips on securing your templates.

      Why is my page not active?

      There are 2 reasons why a page will not be active:

      1. The action has not been marked "Active" on the "Restrictions" tab when you are editing the action.  Be sure to set the "Status" field to "Active", then click on the "save" or "save & continue buttons.
      2. There are no targets in the action.  You must choose at least one target for the action  to be active.  See Why are there no targets in my action? on this page for more information.

      How do I target a local government?

      Local data targeting is only available in conjunction with the newest version of the advocacy package, most often referred to as Actions 3, and it is not a standard package, so you'll need to request this specific targeting package through your account manager.

      This target type does not allow writers to send (either by their own choice or by the targeting setup of the campaign) messages to legislators other than their own.

      Data will be updated on a quarterly basis for local legislatures of most major cities as well as many smaller cities. After the package is added to your account, your action targeting menu will include Local County and Local Municipal contacts.

      Alternatively, you can target local offices by creating a custom target.

      How do I target the CEO/President of a corporation?

      If the company CEO/President has an email address, then you can target him/her by creating a custom target.

      If the l company CEO/President uses  webforms to collect opinion, then please get in touch with Salsa Support at support@salsalabs.com.

      How do I change the Submit button text on a Petition?

      To change the text on the petition submit button (to "Submit" for example), copy this text

      <script type='text/javascript'>
      $("#submitSignPetition").attr('value', 'Submit'); </script>

      Put the script into the bottom of the template that you use for your petitions. It goes right before the </body> tag. When you are done, the submit button will look something like this:

      Bullet points are showing up in the WYSIWYG editor, but not on the public facing action page. How do I fix this?

      You can add the following CSS to your template or to the page itself in the source view:

      <style type="text/css">
      .salsa ul li { list-style: disc outside none !important; } </style>
