    Disable autocomplete on Salsa forms

    In This Article:

A client recently reported that a donor had made a donation in honor of another person.  The donor submitted the donation, then saw, to her horror, then she had wished the honored person Merry Christmas on what should have been a very solemn dedication.

Naturally, if the donor had had autofill/autocomplete off in the browser, then that wouldn't have happened.  At the same time, do you have donors and supporters that have this happen?  Would you like to help out by telling the browser not to autofill/autocomplete?  If so, then please read on!

The solution is to add a script to all of your templates that advises the browser that autofill/autocomplete is not desirable.  Our testing has shown that this works in all of the modern browsers, and even in some of the older ones, too.  Here are some steps that you can use to install this script:

      1. Edit a template for pages that you would rather not have autofill/autocomplete work.
      2. Locate the </body> tag using the browser's search tool.
      3. Insert an empty line just before the </body> tag.
      4. Copy this text.
      1. Paste the copied text into the newly inserted line.
      2. Save the template.
      3. Test!
