Let supporters upload their profile pictures

    In This Article:

When we view a supporter's record, we can see a profile picture.  The default is a person with brown hair and a green shirt.

Campaign managers can change the profile picture by adding an image via the "Pictures" menu:

For example, let's upload an avatar for the supporter HiHo Silver:

Uploading images for all of your supporters, or even some of your supporters, is a non-trivial task.  They have to be uploaded manually and that's a lot of steps to take.  How would you like a way for supporters to log into their Profile Manager page and upload their own profile pictures?

      Like that? Read on!

For the record, we've asked our developers to provide a way to upload images in a future release.  For right now, though, all you have to do to get this cool facilty is to modify the default template with a script and some HTML.  Here are some steps that you can use:

      1. Edit the default template.
      2. Locate the </body> tag in the template using the browser's search tool.
      3. Insert a blank line just before the </body> tag.
      4. Click here to see the solution source.
      5. Click on the Raw button.  A window will open showing just the solution source.
      6. Copy the contents of the window then close it.
      7. Paste the copied text into newly inserted line in the template.
      8. Save the template.
      9. Test!

The ability to upload a profile is tied to the default template.  If you decide to change your default template and you want supporters to be able to upload their own profile pictures then you'll need to repeat these steps for the new template.
