    Storefront: Flat-rate shipping

    In This Article:

Salsa's storefronts provide a way to charge a shipping fee for each storefront item.  If you have a lot of merchandise items, it can be a pain trying to figure out how to much to charge for shipping. How would you like to always charge the same flat rate for shipping in your storefront?

      Like that?  Then read on!

The solution is to add a script to the template used by your storefront.  The script will wait for the checkout page to appear and then insert a flat-rate shipping amount.  Here are some steps that you can use to install the script.

      1. Edit the template used by your storefront.
      2. Use the browser's search tool to find the </body> tag.
      3. Insert an empty line just before the </body> tag.
      4. Click here to see the page where the solution lives.
      5. Locate and click the "Raw" button.  A new window will appear that contains just the script.
      6. Copy the contents of the window and close it.
      7. Return to the template editor.
      8. Paste the copied text into the newly inserted line in the template.
      9. Save your work.

The next step is to set the amount of the flat-rate shipping fee. Here are some steps that you can use.

      1. Edit the template used by your storefront.
      2. Use the browser's search tool to locate "flatRateShippingFee".
      3. Change the amount of the shipping fee from 10.50 to the shipping fee you want to choose.  Please only type numbers and (optionally) a period followwed by two numbers for cents. "7", "7.00" and 7.10" are good.  "$7" (dollar sign),  "7,00" (comma), and "7.1235" (too many digits after the period) are not good.
      4. Save the template.
      5. Test!
