Configure how Funds (pulled from Salsa CRM) will be displayed on a form, by default, so that supporters may select their own fund to restrict their donation.
Review of Transaction Finance Values
In Salsa Engage instances synced to Salsa CRM, campaign managers can designate finance values from Salsa CRM on pages that collect donations:
- Fund—The programs or initiatives paid for with the money you raise. Funds represent how the gifts your supporters make should be distributed by Accounting. These should correspond to Income Accounts within the foundation's accounting structure, designated as Unrestricted or Restricted funds. For example, specific program accounts, scholarships, or General Fund.
- Campaign—The overall fundraising activities motivating supporters to donate. For example, 2021 Gala or Fun Run.
- Appeal—The fundraising detail or specifics. For example, event registrations, ticket purchases, or straight donations. Think of them as sub-campaigns.
Normally, when transactions sync to CRM, they are categorized with default values defined when the form is created. Each Engage activity is associated with only a single fund. Transactions processed through the form are assigned to that fund.
Fund Selection Overview
As another option, you may allow your supporters to earmark their donation by adding the Fund Selection element to an activity form. First, you will need to configure which funds you offer as selections.
- Choose the funds that will be available to add to the dropdown list on any Engage activity form that accepts donations. Please note that there is a limit of 500 option values. On each Engage activity form, you can pare down this list further for that particular form. If a fund isn't available here, make sure that it has not been hidden or deleted in Salsa CRM.
- Set the order that the list of funds will appear on Engage activity forms. The fund order will be the same (lowest number to highest number) for all forms, even though not all funds may be shown on a particular form.
- Edit the Public Name if you would like the name of the fund to be displayed as something other than the "Fund Name" as it is saved in Salsa CRM.
