The Human Resources and Volunteer module of Salsa CRM is very feature rich. In order to accurately reflect your organization some simple one time steps are required. Note: Any changes to your organizations structure could require modification of the Human Resources and Volunteer Configuration.
There are four areas of the Human Resources and Volunteer setup, they are:
- Configuration - within Human Resources Configuration there are three tabs;
- Organization - allows you to define details about your organization as a whole such as Divisions, Departments, Units, Locations, and Work Zones.
- Associates - allows you to define details pertaining to your associates such as Actions, Recruitment, Hire Sources, Type, Pay Frequency and Labor Unions.
- Development - Each tab allows you to define specific areas of your organization such as Training Recruitment Status, Skill Names, Skill Proficiency, Accommodations, and Accommodation Level.
- Classifications - Classifications are used to group similar positions together.
- Positions - Positions are the actual job position within your organization.
- Postings - Postings are the open postings within your organization.
Volunteer Configuration
The first step in tracking employees is to make certain that you have defined your Organization, Associates and Development as well as adding your job Classifications, Positions and Postings. In order to set up the Human Resources and Volunteer module, follow the steps below:

From the main menu select "Manage".

Highlight Human Resources, then select "Configuration".

The Human Resources Configuration screen will be displayed with the Organization tab selected. From here you are able to add, edit and delete Divisions, Departments, Locations, Work Zones and Units of your organization.

Select the “Add” button directly under the item for which you wish to add information.

Type the name of the item. Select “OK”.

Continue adding, editing or deleting the lists until they reflect your organization.

Select the "Associates" tab and follow steps 4 and 5 for each item on the Associates tab that applies to your organization.

Once you have added information for each item on the Associates tab, select the "Development" tab and follow steps 4 and 5 for each item listed.

Close the Human Resources Configuration window by selecting the X button on the right hand corner of the title bar.
You have completed the Human Resources and Volunteer Configuration. Your next step is to enter the Classifications, Positions and Posting for your organization.
Volunteer Classifications
As with all components within Salsa CRM, the Human Resources and Volunteer module is configurable based upon your organizational needs. Suggestions within the help file are for the purpose of example only, set up your system to reflect the needs of your organization.
Classifications are used to group similar positions together. In other words, you could have a classification of Nurse and within that classification you would have positions such as Nurse LPN, Nurse RN, Nurse BSN, etc.. In order to add Classifications, follow the steps below:

From the main menu select "Manage".

Highlight Human Resources, then select "Classifications".

The Position Classification screen will be displayed with all previously defined classifications. Select "Add" on the bottom right of the screen.

Type your Classification, press "Tab".

Type the Minimum Pay for the Classification, press "Tab".

Type the Maximum Pay for the Classification, select "Save".

Continue adding classifications by following steps 3 through 6 until all Classification in your organization have been added.

Close the window by selecting the X button on the upper right corner of your screen.
Volunteer Positions
As with all components within Salsa CRM, the Human Resources and Volunteer module is configurable based upon your organizational needs. Suggestions within the help file are for the purpose of example only, set up your system to reflect the needs of your organization.
Positions are the actual job position within your organization. In order to add Positions, follow the steps below:

From the main menu select Manage, highlight Human Resources and then select Positions. The Position screen will be displayed with all previously defined positions.

Select Add on the bottom right of the screen. The Add Position screen will be displayed.

Create a Position Number and Position Name. Beyond this, you may fill in the relevant information for this position and how it relates to your organization.

Once you have entered all information correctly, you may select Save. The Add Position screen will disappear and you will be back to the list of your organization's previously defined positions.

Continue adding Positions by following steps 2-3 until all Positions in your organization have been added.

Close the window by selecting the X button on the upper right corner of your screen.
Volunteer Postings
As with all components within Salsa CRM, the Human Resources and Volunteer module is configurable based upon your organizational needs. Suggestions within the help file are for the purpose of example only, set up your system to reflect the needs of your organization.
Postings are the open job postings within your organization. In order to add Postings, follow the steps below:

From the main menu select "Manage".

Highlight Human Resources, then select "Postings".

The Posting screen will be displayed with all previously defined Postings. Select "Add" on the bottom right of the screen.

Type your "Posting Number", press "Tab".

Type the "Posting Name", press "Tab".

Select the "Position" button.
-
Type the "Position Name". Select "Search".

Double click using your mouse on the appropriate "Position".

Type the "Number of Openings" and press "Tab".

Select either "Yes" or "No" in response to the "Budget" prompt.

Type the "Posting Start Date". If it is today's date, double click in the field and Salsa CRM will enter today's date for you. Press "Tab".

Type the "Posting End Date". Press "Tab"

Type any applicable "Notes" that you wish to associate with this Posting. Select "Save".

Continue adding Postings by following steps 3 through 13 until all Postings in your organization have been added.

Close the window by selecting the X button on the upper right corner of your screen.
