To communicate with your supporters via Social Posts, you will need to link your organization's Facebook or Twitter social media accounts to Salsa Engage. To do this, you must be an admin for the page(s) that you want to link, and the pages must not be private. You can link multiple accounts of each type to your account, and you will be able to decide which to use when sharing content through social media channels.
Link Account
- Log in to Salsa Engage.
- Click the Social tab to the left of the Salsa Engage window, and then select the Accounts tab.
- To add a new account, click Connect a social media account,
- Select the channel that you want to link to Salsa Engage.
- If you are not logged in through your current web browser, you will need to log in.
"X" - Formerly Known as Twitter
Authorize Salsa Social Publishing to access your X account. If your organization has its own account, and you want to publish it to your organization's account, then log in to that account. If you want to publish as an individual, you must be first logged in as that individual and then link accounts.
We have three different options to interact with Facebook:
- Post to a Page
- Manage Lead Ads
- Upload Custom Audiences
Post to a Page
What's the difference between a Facebook Profile and a Facebook Page?
- A Facebook Profile is a personal account on Facebook. When you sign up for Facebook you get a Profile. This is a place where you can add friends and family members, communicate on a personal level, and share photos, videos, and life updates. Everyone who joins Facebook gets a Profile, and you can only ever have one under your name.
- A Facebook Page is a business account that represents a company or organization. A Facebook page allows businesses to promote specials and contests to followers who have engaged with their page by “liking” it. Having a Page also allows businesses to use Facebook advertisements. There is no limit to the number of Pages you can manage.
Manage Ads
It is highly recommended that Facebook pages and ads run through a Meta Business Manager account. Due to Facebook terms of service changes recently, Engage cannot post to personal accounts. Pages belonging to personal accounts are unaffected. Make sure that you have "Administrator" access to that Business Manager account.
To use Salsa Engage support for Facebook Lead Ads, you will need to add a Facebook Ads account. Click here for more information about Salsa Engage support for Lead Ads.
If your organization runs its Facebook pages and ads through a Meta Business Manager account, you'll want to be sure that you have "Administrator" access to that Business Manager account.
Salsa will manage your ads, access your Facebook ads and related stats, manage your business, show a list of the Pages you manage, access leads for your Pages, read content posted on the Page, manage accounts, settings and webhooks for a Page, read user content on your Page and create and manage ads for your Page.
Upload Custom Audiences
Find supporters in Salsa and send them to Facebook as a Custom Audience. When you build a Custom Audience from your existing supporters in Salsa Engage, you can target Facebook advertising campaigns more accurately. You can also build a lookalike audience of Facebook users that match the attributes of the supporters you send here.
Note: Salsa Engage will not connect any Facebook page that has a private profile.
Reauthorize an Account
There may be times when, due to changes to Facebook's platform, you may have to reauthorize your account. All available accounts are listed on the Accounts tab, and Accounts that need to be reauthorized display a warning icon in the Account/Page column of the table.
- Click the Social tab to the left of the Salsa Engage window, and then select the Accounts tab.
- In the table of accounts, find the account that you want to reauthorize, and click it. There will be a red reauthorization header in the About this account tab.
- Click the Re-authorize button and follow the prompts. Once reauthorized, the account will be available elsewhere in Salsa Engage.
Modify an Account
Modify an account that is already linked in Salsa Engage, click the account row in the table of linked accounts. The information is used for reference within Salsa Engage and won’t be seen publicly.
Delete an Account
To delete an account, click the checkbox next to the account, and then click the Delete Account button.
