Before getting started, it is important to note that these instructions will apply to all 3 group types(Dynamic, Static, Mailing list).
You can create a group from these steps or add the supporters to an existing group(Static or Mailing List)
To access this option, go to Supporters>Query>Create new query. If you are already logged into Salsa Engage, click this link and you will be directed there automatically.
Then use the rules to create your query and click Show Results.
Once your targeted supporters come back, there will be a Query Options button at the top right. When you click on this, there will be an option to Make or Update group:
Once you click this option, a module will come up:
If you click Add Supporters to a new group, you will be prompted to choose the group type. If you choose Dynamic, this will create a group and your account will run the same search once a day to identify new supporters who fall into that criteria and will be added to this group. Depending on your criteria, it would also remove supporters who no longer fall into that criteria you've searched on.
For Static or Mailing List type groups, this will add the supporters at the time you process. Even if new supporters fall into this criteria, they may not be added to this group.
If you choose the option to Modify Supporter Membership in an Existing Group, you will be prompted to choose whether or not you wish to add or remove them from an existing static or mailing list group.
Since dynamic groups are already set up and running once a day, if you wish to edit the criteria or delete that group, go to Supporters>Groups>Dynamic to manage it.
Once you select your respective option, follow the prompts to complete your update for these supporters.
