Engage Groups allow you to segment your supporter records and divide them into distinct units. Creating smaller, flexible lists of supporters within your full supporter list allows you reach out to specific groups with messages just for them. For example, you may need a Group of all supporters who have signed up to receive your newsletter that automatically updates whenever someone submits your Sign-up Form, or you may need to suppress a group of employees from receiving your fall appeal email.

Group Types
Engage features the following types of groups:
- Static groups include only supporters that you add or remove manually.
- Mailing lists are a kind of static group that supporters can opt-in to and receive mailings targeted to that mailing list topic. You can give supporters the option to opt-in to Mailing List groups by adding a Mailing List Opt-In Element to your forms. Supporters may be able to opt themselves in by changing their Subscription Management preferences as well.
- CRM groups are created in Salsa CRM and synced to Salsa Engage but are managed by Salsa CRM.
- Dynamic groups are predefined groups that populate automatically every 24 hours with...
- Supporters matching the results of an attached Supporter Query.
- Supporters identified to populate built-in or SMART Groups.
Reorder Mailing List Groups
When you click on the Mailing Lists tab, the groups are in no particular order. This order is the order in which supporters will see the Mailing List groups on your forms in the Mailing List Opt-In element.
If you wish to change the order in which the groups are displayed on the Opt-In element...
- Click the Reorder Groups button.
- Drag and drop the rows to the order you prefer.
- Click Cancel to suspend any changes. Click Save Reordered Groups to maintain your changes.
