The Constituent Notes node is an excellent place to store general Constituent visit notes, phone calls, email contents, etc. that do not pertain to a specific donation. Emails sent to constituents through Salsa CRM may be optionally saved to the Notes node of the constituent’s record.
Notes regarding the donor's giving history should be added in the General Donation Notes section. Notes about a specific donation may be entered on the Donation itself.
The Notes table may be resorted in either ascending or descending order by column header. Click the column heading to be sorted by clicking once. Clicking again will sort it in the opposite order.
Add a Constituent Note
To add notes to a constituent record...
- Open the desired constituent record.
- On the left panel of your screen, under the Explorer, click Notes. The Notes node is displayed.
- To add notes, click the +Add Note button.
- Click the drop-down arrow in the Purpose box and choose the appropriate purpose for the Note.
NOTE: Configure the Purpose drop-down with instructions found in the Notes Configuration article. - You may enter the date and time stamp for the note by clicking the calendar icon or entering the values directly to the fields.
- When the Add Note window opens the Duration timer automatically starts. You may stop the timer by selecting the Stop Timer button and restart with the Start Timer button. This is useful when you are calling a donor/constituent to track your time.
- Type your Note. Constituent Notes can be up to 16,000 characters. Click-and-drag in the bottom right corner of the Note content field to make the field bigger.
- Click Save.
Edit a Constituent Note
To edit an existing Note...
- Open the desired constituent record.
- On the left panel of your screen, under the constituent nodes, click Notes. The Notes node is displayed.
- Click the desired Note.
- Make your desired changes.
- Click Save.
Delete a Constituent Note
To delete an existing Note...
- Open the desired constituent record.
- On the left panel of your screen, under the constituent nodes, click Notes. The Notes node is displayed.
- Click once on the checkbox to the left of the note to delete.

- Multiple rows may be selected by clicking multiple checkboxes corresponding to the notes to be deleted.
- All rows may be selected by clicking the checkbox in the grey column header next to Date.

- Click the Delete Note icon to the right.

- Delete multiple rows at once by instead selecting the Actions dropdown menu above and to the right of the table. The number of rows selected displays at the top.
- Click Delete.

- Confirm you want to delete Notes by clicking Confirm. Abort deleting the note by clicking Cancel.
Print Notes
- Click the Print Notes icon
above and to the right of the table.
- The table is converted to an HTML table in a new browser tab.
- Print this report using your browser's native Print function.
Export Notes
Export the Notes table to an Excel spreadsheet by clicking on the Export icon above and to the right of the table. The file will be available in your browser's Download folder.
